What do you think of when you think of an Attorney or Lawyer? I think of Leo Gets from Lethal Weapon or the TV character messing up my google search results… Jamie Ross from Law and Order!! A lot of times, attorneys are responsible for some pretty big things in your life: divorce, purchasing real estate, estate planning, or maybe you need a criminal lawyer?!?… Either way, you should have a trusted advisor in your corner!
A few months ago I was at a Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Anna’s Fire/Twisted Cow and managed to sit at the same table with Sarah Moore. I discovered that she is a Real Estate Attorney in the area and so I invited her out to coffee to get to know her better. I am always on the lookout for amazing people that can help me improve my client’s experience. As a Realtor, finding an attorney that you work well with is like finding your soulmate… I think Sarah might be my attorney soulmate.. Like me, she has a community mindset, and likes to volunteer and help the community whenever she can.
Sarah’s website says the following about her:
Before becoming an attorney, Sarah worked in business and higher education for nearly 15 years. She has always dedicated time to volunteering in her community, and is an active member of Gurnee Rotary. Since becoming an attorney she has also volunteered with the Lakes Jr. Eagles Basketball, Millburn Middle School PTO, Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center, Guardianship Help Desk in Lake County, the Center for Conflict Resolution in Cook County, and as a LiveHelp operator with Illinois Legal Aid Online (ILAO).
A graduate of the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, she earned the Dean's Certificate of Service.
What was even more impressive is that she accomplished her law degree while working full time and raising her kids. Since she was a young girl, Sarah wanted to be a lawyer. Once she finished HS, she went on to get her associates degree and then life happened. As a young mom, she took some time away from school. 10 years later, she decided to go back to school, finished her bachelor's degree in 10 months and then her law degree. Fast forward to today, she currently resides in Lindenhurst with her husband and children.
Sarah has an office in Grayslake where she not only handles real estate transactions, but she does estate planning as well. Estate planning has a special place in Sarah’s heart because she has seen the devastation that comes without having a plan. According to AARP, more than half of Americans don’t have a plan. When you are grieving the loss of the loved one, emotions are high… Having a plan will prevent those left behind to settle your affairs in a peaceful way vs. fighting over who gets what or even worse, letting the state decide what will happen to your children!! If you don’t have a plan, consider giving Sarah a call. Some of the Estate Planning services that she provides are:
Powers of Attorney for Healthcare
Powers of Attorney for Property
What I enjoy most about Sarah is she is fun to be around and makes you feel comfortable around her. I have been able to get to know her better over the last couple months and she has crossed the bridge from trusted advisor to friend. Come meet us at the Spring Fest Expo on March 31. Sarah and I will have a booth together to answer any questions you might have as well as enter to win a picnic backpack!!
